FAQs
What is a Sound Bath?
A sound bath is an immersive experience that uses various instruments - often Tibetan and Crystal singing bowls and the Gong - to create vibrations and soundscapes.
These vibrations promote relaxation, reduce stress, and improve overall wellbeing and create a calming atmosphere for you to enter a meditative state by helping the body to slowing down.
What is a Gong?
A gong is a large metal percussion instrument originating from Southeast Asia that produces a deep resonant, echoing sound when struck. Each Gong creating its own unique tone and immersive vibration.
These gong sessions stimulate the parasympathetic nervous system, improve sleep, lower cortisol, and foster deep, meditative states that can release emotional blockages.

Safety isn’t about forcing relaxation. It’s about creating the conditions where relaxation can naturally happen which I aim to do.
What Frequencies Are Actually Used?
Sound bath instruments produce complex layers of sound. It's these rich harmonic layers - not isolated tones - that make sound baths so profoundly effective. Our bodies are about 60% water, making them excellent conductors of vibration. Your body “absorbs” those frequencies and begins to mirror them tuning cells back into harmony.
Tibetan singing bowls: 110-660 Hz, often aligning with alpha/theta ranges.
Crystal singing bowls: 400-800 Hz, sustained tones linked to vibrational alignment.
Gongs: Deep bass (50 Hz) to highs above 1,000 Hz, creating an immersive soundscape.
What if I feel emotional during the session?
Sound baths can help release emotional blockages. If need be you can sit up, take a break and deep breathe or step out if required. This is a safe non judgemental space. If you start to feel uncomfortable or unwell you can end your session early. Everyone’s nervous system is different so please do what feels right for you.
Do I need to know how to meditate?
No. The sound bath helps guide your mind into a relaxed state.
What if I feel emotional during the session?
It is advised to not eat anything just before a session, a light meal a couple of hours prior to the sound bath is ok. Please do keep hydrated however.
What will I feel after the session?
People often feel lighter, rested, balanced and more grounded.
Please remember to stay well hydrated afterwards.
